Rukova hiža, a traditional house of Zagorje, has preserved many happy tales within its walls, inherit-ing one family' s history. Each detail has been restored and brought into place by the owners themselves, everything from old paintings to wooden floors, tables, chairs, closets, and other furniture, with the thought in mind that guests will not only find an ideal place to relax, but also bring a part of the experience and the history of this family from Zagorje back with them. The second floor of the house has been de-signed to reflect the contemporary times and, like the first floor, it is entirely attuned to the needs of the contemporary guest. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, a PlayStation console, a smart TV and a kitch-en with all the essential appliances, as well as a bathroom with a toilet and a shower cabin.

A special feature of this vacation house, in addition to its interior, is a garden where you can enjoy fruit picked from the trees, the authentic Zagorje figs, indigenous Zagorje grapes, and vineyard peaches. You can also cook food on the grill, relax on some lounge chairs and watch the sunset. Be-fore you arrive, the hosts will heat the hot tub and sauna, prepare welcome drinks, fill a basket with local wine, cookies, juices and merchandise, cold beer and mineral water, so that your vacation can begin as soon as you open the door.

Step out into the beautiful courtyard and breathe in the fresh mountain air, as the house lies 400 meters above the sea level in the Medvednica Nature Park along the hiking and biking trails. Those who enjoy taking long walks should explore the Rudnica water spring, located on the hiking trail that passes by the house. The village water supply is connected to the spring, so that water from the mountain is available via the tap offering you the pleasure of real, cold spring water. Situated in a small village where Matija Gubec was born, the cottage, like the village, has a soul and cherishes tradition.
